Half of June has come and gone already, swiped in an instant for all I recall was spending nearly all my time at the bank, trying to clean up the mess these stupid fools called bankers made. I didn’t even realize so much time had passed until my aunt called saying she went to buy my cousin a birthday gift, for her birthday was Sunday (21st June), which coincides with the World Music Day. It really felt weird to know that I wasted more than 3 weeks, going to the bank practically everyday, only to find that I had to go back again the next day because of yet another complication.

I can’t say that I’m not glad that the dark days are finally over, and that the sun is shining as brightly as ever in my little realm, an expression rarely used by the weatherman these days. Sure enough, while my focus has not really been on the calendar, I simply couldn’t ignore the not-so-subtle hints the weather has been giving us Mauritians recently: that winter had finally arrived. Of course, as frivolous as the wind and sunshine could be, we could hardly expect the wintry weather to come as expected, in April as it always did. Instead, after a foretaste of what it would be like during the first week of May, we spent most of the time waiting for the real thing while bathing in heat, almost rivaling with summer, but not quite; the days were growing shorter but it got no colder.

Well, the blankets are out once again, and so are the winter socks, pullovers and scarves. I’m really looking forward to using the socks Dawn sent me, but for now, I kidnapped the my father’s winter clothes, which are way more warmer and comfortable than mine. It’s not like he uses them anyway; he never feels cold and neither does my mother which is really annoying. At least, I know that whether or not the cold air affects them, my cold hands and feet will. I’m feeling very evil right now….

Anyway, while I try to work out a master plan to freak them out, I’ll leave you with my two unnamed-yet goldfish which I received today from my mom and their new buddy. My father does not know about them yet, and I don’t think we are going to tell him very soon; he will think we would be fed up very soon and then, he would have to take care of them. Oh, and suggestions for the names are welcome.

Lovely little gold fish. The stones in the bottom remind me of jelly beans. Perhaps some flavours of Jelly bellies would suit the goldfish for names. Names like tutti fruity and tangerine melon, cantaloupe, fiesta, sunshine, marigold….okay, ventured into some other names like crayons. The skies the limit and you probably already named them.

I am glad the socks will come in handy. I wasn’t sure if it got cold enough there for socks but I guess it does for some people. I am cold more than other people too. I was like that as a kid and grew out of it, but have been feeling that way again lately.

I think you will have the approval of most of the world when you criticise bankers =P – I am glad all of the problems have been rectified now =)

Most people in Britain right now would probably love to dive straight back into winter weather again; the first heatwave in years is sweeping over us slowly, and we are really not configured for such weather =P . The seasons do feel far less defined then they once were; Spring never seems to arrive, it always feels like one giant leap from winter to summer almost overnight =P . I hope you make it through the winter okay, and your parents don’t suffer too much from your evil plans =D

The goldfish look really cut; they can be so therapeutic to watch and feed =) . Ours are often named quite randomly, though there is one giant fish often lurking in the depths, simply called ‘The Big One’ =D

The weather is terribly cold indeed. I’m wearing 2 pullovers. Lucky I don’t feel that cold to the feet, or I would have had to wear socks too. My parents are just like yours I guess. I have never seen my mom wear a pullover and my dad does it “pour la forme”, just because it looks chic. lol! It’s quite annoying, especially when you are shivering like crazy. :P
The goldfish are cute. A name suggestion… Goldie. lol.

I totally agree wid you with that weather… there are times like that.. you even forget the season.. it was really like summer during the beginning of the month.. the bankers are not bankers.. :P LOL today they tried to sell me an insurance policy in the bank.. :S

I’ll tell your father you stealing his clothes !!!

I love the goldfish !! pipo was the name of my fish when i was 10 .. but unfortunately, it tried to do some high jump and jumped from the aquarium and landed on the table…

Cold feet and hands…. I think I see where the evil plan is coming from! xD Anyway, I’m glad your daily trips to the bank are over now! Hope you can have some well-deserved days to laze around and relax! :-)

Also, the goldfish are cute! As is the plushie watching over them! Too bad I don’t have any name to propose! Take good care of them, and don’t get fed up of them too quickly!
